Returning to the Church
We know that life always has ups and downs, twists and turns. Maybe you decided to leave decades ago or maybe it was just this morning. Maybe you never really decided one way or the other, but just sort of drifted away. Maybe you felt burned or betrayed by an individual who was supposed to represent the Church. Maybe you thought the Church was too full of hypocrites or maybe you thought you were too much of a hypocrite to stay. Whatever your situation, we want it to be very clear that there is a place for you here with us!
The Journey of Faith
We cannot begin to explain how glad we are that you are here. Just reading this means that you are open to what God is doing and are interested in seeing what He has in store for you! We sincerely hope that you will start your journey of faith with us.
You never know until you get started. Give God a shot and see if He can change your heart, your work, your family, your life. We think He can.
And we think He will.
After you get started, we hope you will continue to seek God in your daily life. He is all around you! It just takes the eyes of faith to see it sometimes.
And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets."
St. Andrew the Apostle Parish exists to help foster your relationship with God. A huge part of that is fostering relationships with one another. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, you can make connections here. Connections that are built on the foundation of Christ are lasting, solid, and safe.
Becoming a Disciple
The beautiful thing about our God is that there is always more. Literally. There is always more. The name we give to "more" is "discipleship," becoming a true student and follower of Jesus Christ. The infinite love, mercy, and peace that flows from Christ to us is never ending. Once you make connections founded on this reality, we encourage you to go deeper. God is calling every one of us to an authentic discipleship, following Jesus Christ wherever He goes.
Is God calling you to serve? We are really positive that He is, but the question doesn't end there. Don't ask if He is calling you, but rather...
How is He calling you?
As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the word and understands it; he indeed bears fruit, and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.
There are plenty of ways to deepen your faith, your hope, your love. There are plenty of ways to get involved and plugged-in. Do not be afraid to take that next step! We are excited to see what gifts the Lord has blessed you with, the ways that you can meet the needs of your brothers and sisters. In all things, He is always right beside you. And so are we.
How do I return?
If you simply stopped coming on your own, all you need to do is make a good confession! If you would like to talk to someone please contact us and we would be happy to help you.
